Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

As a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager at UtilityAPI, you will play a pivotal, high visibility role in supporting strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting. You will also build and refine models, processes, tools and systems that will allow the company to scale and will be critical to informing the company’s investment and resource allocations. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will collaborate cross-functionally with various departments and other stakeholders. Our ideal candidate is a resourceful team player who can learn quickly in a fast-paced environment and understands how to drive initiatives across the finish line in a timely and efficient manner. 

What you’ll do:

• Develop and maintain financial models to analyze and forecast revenue, expenses, cash flow, and key business metrics.
• Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, variance analysis, and dashboards for senior management, board members and other stakeholders, highlighting key trends and insights.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and controls to enhance reporting efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Operations, Sales, and other teams to gather timely and accurate data for financial analysis and reporting.
• Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, working closely with functional leaders to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and financial targets.
• Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to evaluate the impact of various business decisions and market dynamics on financial performance.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics, identifying areas of concern or opportunity and making recommendations for improvement.
• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis, reporting and support for critical strategic initiatives, fundraising activities, and investor communications.

Your experience:

• Extensive relevant work experience in financial planning and analysis or corporate finance. Experience in investment banking, consulting or a fast-paced (PE or venture backed) startup environment preferred. 
• Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis, with advanced Excel/Google sheets skills. Experience with financial planning software or ERP systems is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
• Proactive mindset with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, drive process improvements, and work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs in a dynamic startup environment.

Compensation:

The estimated annual base salary range for this role is:

$135,000 - $150,000
