Founding Full-stack Engineer

This role is with a new AI-forward portfolio company of Menlo Ventures, currently in stealth.

The opportunity

As our founding full-stack engineer, you'll partner closely with the founders to build our collaborative canvas platform and core infrastructure. You'll create robust, scalable systems that seamlessly integrate AI capabilities and real-time event processing to deliver exceptional experiences for both end-users and developers.

What you'll do

• Design and implement our platform architecture, including public APIs and documentation
• Create our collaborative canvas interface with real-time features and data visualizations
• Build high-performance data processing pipelines
• Develop data connectors and enterprise integrations
• Build robust testing, monitoring, and developer tooling
• Collaborate with AI teams to integrate advanced capabilities

What you bring

• 5+ years of experience building production web applications and APIs at scale
• Strong expertise in TypeScript, React, and Next.js
• Deep knowledge of backend development with Python
• Experience with data connectors (Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift)
• Track record implementing enterprise integrations (Salesforce, Stripe)
• Experience with WebSocket implementations and real-time systems
• Understanding of API design, versioning, and developer experience
• Familiarity with the latest LLM SDKs & APIs: OpenAI, Anthropic, Vercel AI SDK, etc.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP) and containerization

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary: $130,000 – $180,000 per year depending on experience and equity preference
• Early-stage equity based on cash compensation
