French Teacher – Job Description School year position - Beginning September 2022 Located in Kirkland, Les Lilas French Bilingual Community School welcomes children from the age of pre-K to 5th on a campus filled with inspiring child-centered learning spaces. Les Lilas is a warm little school where the notions of conviviality, fun to learn and openness to others are ubiquitous in everyday life. We are seeking candidates who understand and appreciate the power of childhood and the possibilities of children as unique individuals learning in a social context. We hire teachers committed to collaborative teaching within a vibrant adult learning community. Les Lilas opened its doors in September 2015 to children aged 3 to 6 years with new classes opening each year. The end of a child's schooling at Les Lilas will have followed the French National Education Program. Montessori certification and/or a Washington State Teachingcertificate is strongly preferred. If not currently certified, the applicant must be enrolled in or willing to enroll in a Montessori training program. QUALIFICATIONS EMPLOYMENT DUTIES Les Lilas is looking for an excellent, engaged, native French speaking teacher to join our dynamic team. The teacher will teach the French National curriculum to preschool aged children who is passionate about bilingual education . The teacher will need to be able to implement the French curriculum with the Montessori pedagogy. Les Lilas French Bilingual Community School’s mission is to provide children with a strong academic foundation and foster a lifelong joy of learning through a dual French/Montessori curriculum RESPOSABILITIES · Create a nurturing, safe classroom community with, and for, students · Plan and teach the French National curriculum to primary school age children in a bilingual setting with a team teacher and a larger bilingual team · Work closely with other French and English faculty and staff on multiple bilingual projects · Adapt to the bilingual environment and teaching methods of the school · Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests · Provide continuous student assessment, mid-year and end-of-year progress reports, and hold parent-teacher conferences twice a year · Attend regular meetings as needed · Successfully complete other professional responsibilities as assigned Qualifications · Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field · Teaching credential or equivalent degree · Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience Work Remotely • No Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: $32.00 - $36.00 per hour Benefits: • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Language: • English (Preferred) Ability to Commute: • Kirkland, WA 98034 (Required) Ability to Relocate: • Kirkland, WA 98034: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
