Full-Time Addiction Psychiatrist

Overview:

VHC Health is seeking a dedicated, full-time Addiction Psychiatrist to join our expanding Behavioral Health Service Line. This is an exceptional opportunity for a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible physician in Addiction Medicine to be part of a growing team delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care for adults with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.

As an integral member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in shaping and delivering inpatient addiction services within our system and contribute to the development of our new Behavioral Wellness Campus — a 5.8-acre, state-of-the-art facility focused on holistic recovery and healing in Arlington, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide direct psychiatric care, including medication management and crisis intervention.
• Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals as part of a multidisciplinary care team.
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement and best practices initiatives.
• Stay current on advancements in addiction psychiatry and integrate them into clinical practice.

Qualifications:

• Medical license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or eligibility to obtain one.
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry with fellowship training in Addiction Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine.
• Experience working with patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental illness.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
