Job Description

We are looking for a function of a Functional analyst / solution designer : 

You will join our Digital Transformation Division, working with experts in software solution development, infrastructure building, organizational transformation, and data management. You will be seconded to a major player in the energy sector within a specialized team. This role will leverage your skills in analyzing and optimizing business processes, contributing to significant projects that shape the future of energy management in Belgium, with both strategic and operational responsibilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing PI Objectives

• Supports the Solution architect and the Business Engagement Team during intake
• Based on the requirements and prioritization of the business you will be consulted in shaping the roadmap and providing estimations in terms of workload and needs. If we source the solution for a requirement outside (buy, nearshore, offshore) you (help) with the creation and scoring of an RFP
• You analyse, before and during the PI the requirements of the users so that the most optimal solution can be build.
• Evaluates the feasibility of the different solutions always keeping in mind the affordability, fit-for-purpose and value for money
• You have solid knowledge of analyses for both GUI based applications as well as back-office applications with heavy logical processes and integrations
• You spot pro actively issues withing existing application in terms of best practices. You analyse and manage the implementations of said corrections
• You actively contribute to being visible with the business
• You know and can work/prepare work in an agile context

Follow and support the development

• Quality is your middle name. As we’re shaping the applications and integrations who keep the lights on we work in a qualitative manner
• You support the developers when they are building the components you analyzed
• You validate (test) the work the developers delivered during the sprint
• When it’s time for the sprint demo you guide the demonstration of value delivered to the users. You capture feedback and defects and know to balance the delivery goal versus the feedback to create an end product with as much value as possible.

Stay on top after delivery

• You document the finale setup including differences between design and implementation
• You do a handover to the operational people where needed
• You stay involved in for follow up of your analyses
• Continuous improvement requests and their analyse to prepare them for the PI
• L3 guidance on support tickets and being backup for the L2/L3 operational coordinator

As a Functional Analyst within the OptiGen domain, you will bridge the gap between business needs and IT solutions. Your role involves analyzing business processes, gathering requirements, and translating them into functional specifications. You’ll design system features, oversee their implementation, and validate system performance to ensure alignment with business needs. Your expertise will guide developers and inform stakeholders, ensuring seamless technology integration with business strategy. This role emphasizes operational tasks, including supporting the existing application landscape and providing advanced L2/L3 support to end users.

Optimization & Generation Department

The IT Optimisation & Generation team manages application development and maintenance, adhering to Agile principles to ensure operational excellence. The team supports a variety of applications, both on-premises and SaaS, aiding in wholesale market transactions, balancing services, and hedging operations. Additionally, they facilitate connections to national grid operators.

Qualifications

Profile for this position:

• The ideal candidate holds a master degree in exact sciences (preferably in IT) or has attained comparable level through relevant experience 
• Extended experience in functional analysis preferable in .Net
• Experience with UML to explain and visualize (data) flows
• You know not only your way around documentation but are also hands-on for testing (functional and technical via SQL/REST)
• As part of the work scope is driven by external actors you have experience in both stakeholder management as well as in reading (legal) requirement documents.

• Prior expertise in following-up on team delivery by leveraging Jira

• Connect and communicate to engage stakeholders via:

  • Sharing knowledge
  • Critical thinking to improve processes and to boost creativity
• Fluent in English, Dutch and/or French is a plus
• Strong teamworker but can work autonomous
• You can easily switch between different contexts, technology stacks and applications in a fast paced and complex landscape

• To work full time from Home and/or on site(min 2 days per week)
• As from ASAP till December 2024, extension possible after December 2024 .
