Summary of Role:
GlobalFoundries Fab 9 in Essex Junction, VT is seeking an experienced Yield Engineer focused on Functional Electrical Test Characterization and Customer Functional Support. This role requires an organized individual with strong communication skills. The individual will have responsibilities to characterize signals from all sources (wafer test, kerf test, and inline), define and drive yield improvement projects while balancing the business objectives. The individual will be responsible for working across multiple teams within and outside of GlobalFoundries and have both direct and indirect communication with customers.
Essential Responsibilities Include:
- Develop and improve yield characterization and data analysis methodologies to rapidly determine yield limiters, correlation to in-line defectivity, and electrical parametric signals
- Work with global yield engineering organization to drive yield monitoring system improvements
- Production Sustaining: Monitoring electrical performance tends, disposition of holds at electrical test, support general/urgent fab operational issues, analysis for material and change review boards
- Drive yield enhancement for multiple products by analyzing failing electrical parameters and rapidly data mining to investigate root causes and containing excursions and protecting supply
- Support process module engineering activities to improve cost, cycle-time, and manufacturing robustness
- Work with internal and external customers as Fab 9 focal point for technical interlocks, abnormal product investigations, yield analysis, improvement plans
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
- Other duties as assigned by manager / supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree (Electrical/Computer Preferred)
- Experience: 7+ years of relevant industry experience
- Understanding of semiconductor technology, solid state device physics
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a globally matrixed team or environment
- Aggressive learner and a strong team player, excellent analytical skills, on-time delivery of assigned work
- Excellent verbal and written communication (Fluency in English language, both written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education - Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or computer engineering related field
- Experience - 7+ years of fab experience
- Experience - 7+ years customer facing / customer service experience
- Exposure to an object-oriented programming language (Python, C++, Java, etc.)
- Scripting skills are a plus
Expected Salary Range
$99,000.00 - $187,900.00
