RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Nickson furniture assemblers use a variety of tools and materials to efficiently load, unload, and assemble furniture pieces and home goods. Daily tasks include, but are not limited to:
Carpentry skills– furniture assemblers use both hand and power tools to set, shape, and attach metal and wooden elements of furniture pieces and make small repairs as needed
Attention to detail– in most cases, furniture assemblers follow manufacturer instructions and specifications to assemble furniture pieces, so they need a high level of attention to detail to ensure that they’re following these specifications closely
Asset Management– furniture assemblers should be experts in Nickson’s inventory management system and have an in depth knowledge on the lifecycle of our inventory assets
Picking and Packing– furniture assemblers are responsible for accurately pulling and protecting assembled assets from an inventory list for customer’s installations
Team collaboration– furniture assemblers work within a warehouse setting, so they must collaborate with other assembly and warehouse personnel
Warehouse organization– furniture assemblers need to be able to navigate isles and racks to identify storage locations for the assembled furniture items and home goods
Truck loading and unloading– as needed for dispatch, furniture assemblers will be responsible for loading and unloading moving vehicles with furniture and home goods
Safety skills– furniture assemblers need some knowledge of safety protocols and best practices to help ensure an accident-free workplace
Stamina and resilience– this role can involve standing and lifting heavy furniture elements throughout the day, so furniture assemblers need high energy and endurance
At times you may be asked to assist the Moving Team with their responsibilities. These additional tasks may include, but are not limited to:
• Properly operate large box trucks (16’ – 26’)
• Move and place furniture according to detailed instructions
• Mount pictures and curtains
• Arrange furniture to fit apartment layouts
• Position miscellaneous décor items
• Wipe down furniture
• Mop/ Vacuum
REQUIREMENTS
Ideal candidates will have:
• 2+ years of professional warehouse, building, moving, or installing experience
• Proficiency with common hand and power tools
• Ability to read, write, and follow detailed written or oral instructions
• Ability to lift 100 pounds consistently with or without reasonable accommodation
• Must be a team player and treat coworkers with respect
• Willingness to uphold company standards for safety, tenant service, and efficiency
• Basic proficiency with a tablet or wireless phone to access inventory applications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Required:
• Must have valid Texas driver’s license
• Must be eligible to work in the United States
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
