JOB TITLE:Design Consultant

SUMMARY:This position is responsible for assisting customers by performing the following duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Helps manage sales aids, greet and assist customers in-person, over the phone, and online.
• Offers design consulting services.
• Completes a sales process.
• Uses a variety of price lists in order to quote prices accurately.
• Follows up with customers to ensure their satisfaction.
• Completes add-on sales.
• Fosters lifelong relationships.
• Assists members of the design trade.
• Walks the showroom floor to make sure all customers are greeted.
• Assists in maintaining the showroom especially returning merchandise to its location after merchandise is moved during a sales process.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certificates, licenses and registrations required: ASID or other interior design certifications preferred but not required.
• Computer skills required: Internet Software, Electronic Mail, and ability to work with digital price lists, online sales aids, and mobile applications.
• Other skills required: Must be able to work well as a member of a sales team, take direction from a sales manager, be congenial with colleagues, and able to flourish in a busy retail environment, and utilize relevant technology easily.

• Additional remarks regarding work environment: must be able to walk with customers around the showroom floor, and handle sales aids including fabrics, wood/leather samples, and price lists.
