Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual for the position of General Carpenter. This role is essential in ensuring the successful execution of various construction and restoration projects. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse range of skills in carpentry, construction, and restoration, demonstrating both technical expertise and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
• Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively on-site.
• Execute rough framing and/or structural framing.
• Install fixtures, cabinets, doors, and perform caulking as part of the finishing process.
• Engage in concrete forming, plastering, and fabrication as required by project demands.
• Conduct roofing, siding, and flooring installation with a focus on quality craftsmanship.
• Participate in water damage restoration, mold remediation, and other restoration activities.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety standards.
• Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all tools are properly stored after use.
• Execute trim and frame carpentry tasks with precision and attention to detail.
• Ability to understand and complete a punch list at the end of a project.
• Drywall hanging, mud and tape, metal framing experience is a huge plus.
Requirements
• Proven experience in construction with a strong background in carpentry.Finish carpentry experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with various construction techniques such as masonry, plumbing, electrical work, and tile laying is highly desirable.
• Ability to operate hand tools and power tools proficiently.Experience with CNC machinery is a plus.
• Capable of heavy lifting and performing physically demanding tasks as required by the job.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Prior experience on construction sites is essential; maintenance person experience will be considered an asset. • Understanding of blueprint experience is a plus
Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary
Pay: $23.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
