General Construction Worker/Project Manager

General Contractor/Project Manager Archetype Homes, Inc. is a residential remodeling/renovation company that specializes in large projects in the Chicago area, mostly Lincoln Park and Lakeview. Our projects range in size and generally last from 2 months to a year and a half. Our work is word of mouth within an excellent referral network and needs to be of the highest standard. We are growing and are looking for an experienced General Construction/Project Manager that is both able to steer the job site in the absence of the General Contractor but also be happy to do rough and finish carpentry and other general construction needs. Our company has a strong culture of mutual respect and we are looking for a new team member that can fit well within our exiting team. · Competitive salary commensurate with the skill set and experience level of applicant. · Three weeks Paid Time Off as well as 8 public holidays. · Excellent advancement potential. · Additional benefits are an option based on individual applicants. · Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans. · Manage one or two job sites when General Contractor is not present. · Complete carpentry tasks as directed, including rough framing, finish carpentry (trim), door hanging, window installation, deck building, cabinet installation, closet fabrication etc. · Supervise and guide workers and tradespeople. · Ensure all safety precautions and quality standards are met. · Supervise the use of small general construction tools, machinery and equipment. · Resolve problems when they arise. · Report on progress to manager. · Basic ability to read plans. · Strong organizational and leadership skills. · Ability to communicate and report effectively. · Motivated and self-disciplined. · Reliable and punctual. · Previous experience in the residential construction industry required. · Strong knowledge base with rough and finish carpentry. · Some experience with other non-carpentry based general construction skills (i.e. Drywall, tile etc).
