General GI Opportunity in the Washington DC Area

An academically affiliated program in Charles County, MD, 30 miles south of Washington DC, is excited to welcome a general gastroenterologist to join their team as they continue to develop their gastroenterology practice. This is a great opportunity for experienced GI physicians as well as physicians finishing their fellowship. For those that are finishing fellowship, the practice has an experienced GI physician who is excited to mentor gastroenterologists.

Practice Highlights:
• General GI is the focus, but ERCP/EUS would be a huge plus if candidate is still open to doing primarily General GI work
• Call will be 1:3, but the call is light. The call ratio will increase as physicians are hired.
• Outstanding benefits and bonus opportunity (RVU + Quality bonus incentives)
• Stand-alone endoscopy center used only by the employed group
• 15-20 patients per day
• Not an academic position, however if someone is open to teaching residents then they can likely coordinate a plan
• Can support J1 and H1B visas

The hospital is in a bedroom community to Washington DC, being just 40 miles to downtown DC and 30 miles to Alexandria, VA. Charles County has a charming and wonderful culture with a unique blend with everything from waterfront, town homes/condos, farms, to estates. The county is also growing at about 2% a year. The area strikes a balance between suburban and rural. If you’re looking for culture, shopping, events, and dining, head 30 minutes north. If you’re looking for estates, farms, hiking, or kayaking, head 10 minutes south!
