SUMMARY Under the direction of the Events Operations Manager, the Events Laborer is responsible for setup, strike and general maintenance of the Magical Forest, including general repairs, installation and maintenance of displays and lighting and general duties involving physical handling of product, materials, supplies and equipment, as well as safely operating amusement rides, attractions and games during hours the Magical Forest is open to the public.There are evening hours and weekend responsibilities with this position that may require extended hours. This is a seasonal position from approximately July 2025 to January 2026, utilized to support the Magical Forest. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform general setup, strike and maintenance, prop & display handling and installation, minor carpentry, LED lighting installation & removal, painting, and grounds keeping. • Safely use conventional hand tools and grounds-keeping equipment, such as, but not limited to, a hammer, electrical drill, rake, shovel, and leaf blower. • If requested by the Events Operations Manager, safely operate simple power tools and carpentry equipment after the completion of OSHA 10 certification. • Maintain orderly, clean, and secure work area and equipment in compliance with company safety and sanitation requirements. • Provide excellent customer service to patrons by directing them to rides, seats, and attractions. • Restock and replenish supplies as directed. • Report any safety or security issues to Events Operations Manager, OV Events team members, such as Manager-on-duty or Security. • Report any maintenance or items in need of repair to the Events Operations Manager. • Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures. • Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) immediately, as mandated by state law. • May be assigned other duties as needed. SKILLS REQUIRED • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, individuals, OV team members, and supervisors (verbal and written). • Must possess social discernment to assess and understand others' reactions and behaviors. • Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions. • Have positive and enthusiastic outlook. • Self-directed, with strong ability to work independently, and to set and adhere to deadlines. • Ability to set priorities, follow through to completion of tasks, work well under pressure, and maintain a high level of confidentiality. • Must encompass professional demeanor. • Ability to learn, understand, and implement proper operation and safety information as related to OV amusement rides and attractions. • Ability to use hand tools competently and safely. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent • Required: One (1) year of verifiable work experience. • Preferred: Current Driver's License • Preferred: Forklift and high lift certification a plus, must be able to obtain forklift and high lift certifications. • Preferred: Prior experience with developmentally disabled individuals. • If requested: Ability to obtain OSHA 10 certification. The list below of minimum essential functions is illustrative of the minimums only and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed. • Ability to lift and move boxes up to 50 pounds • Ability to tolerate a highly active environment. • Ability to conduct tasks and successfully perform under critical deadlines. • Manual dexterity to operate equipment. • Ability to bend, squat, stand, and climb for long periods of time. • Ability to climb and work on ladders and be comfortable with heights of 10 to 15 feet. • Ability to work on scissor and basket lifts and other equipment and be comfortable at heights of 12 to 25 feet. • Ability to work outside in a theme park environment in variable weather conditions. • Ability to tolerate slight to extreme indoor and outdoor temperatures. • Ability to endure varied noise levels from moderate to loud.
