What You’ll Do:
We are seeking a strategic product leader with proven experience building and delivering best-in-class B2B SaaS products and services directly to clients and via channels to a global client base. In this role, you will help shape our product vision, roadmap and overall strategy. You will build an exceptional team and drive innovation with a customer-centric mindset alongside cross-functional stakeholders. You’ll balance urgency and adapting to emerging business needs as a collaborator with our Engineering teams. The VP, Product will report to our CTO and hold a seat within our Executive Team.
Our ideal candidate will bring a strategic orientation in owning our product roadmap and an analytical perspective in decision making, who is willing to “roll up their sleeves” and actively engage with our cross-functional teams and with our data. The Vice President has a number of critical responsibilities including ensuring that HG Insights product management methodology is implemented properly; balancing customer input, market opportunity, technical constraints and technical opportunities to create optimal roadmaps; fully defining requirements for all product offerings; creating business plans, marketing/launch plans and release plans; ensuring that a full lifecycle process is followed from product readiness to market release to launch.  The Vice President owns the product roadmap, constantly reassessing its underlying assumptions. With the CTO and CEO, the VP of Product Management formulates the 2-3 year product strategy and vision, driving the product roadmap. The role includes interfacing with stakeholders both externally and internally. Internally, key partners and stakeholders include the CEO, CTO, SVP of Global Strategy, VP of Marketing, VP of Sales, VP Business Development and others. Externally, the VP of Product will work with analysts, customers, prospects and partners to publicly represent HG.
 What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Build best practices around representing and documenting product needs of internal users through close consultation
- Manage release cycles and milestones of products spanning multiple feature and data insight areas
- Lead the product management team to assure that user stories are clearly written and detailed to drive technology development
- Align the prioritization of feature requests along the product roadmap and act iteratively throughout the implementation process working closely with our CTO and VP of Engineering.
- Collaborate with the CTO and VP Engineering to allocate engineering resource aligned with product initiatives.
- Manage communication across all stakeholders to drive a consistent product release schedule to ensure efficiency in product releases
- Innovate process improvements and present suggestions to the Executive team
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure operational priorities and the product roadmap are aligned with our company vision.
- Engage with Customer Success, Sales and Marketing organizations to bring transparency and understanding of the product roadmap, including feature requests and prioritizations
- Guide the Product team in proactively managing changes while continuously delivering value to customers.
- Partner with VP of Engineering on quarterly planning sessions to ensure that the product roadmap is periodically modified so that it represents the most important priorities for the company.
- Accountable for the fiscal impact by product line for all development initiatives and for developing comprehensive pricing strategies in partnership with our CFO and Product Marketing
- Champion of data driven approach GTM and established best practices
- Constantly drives the search for innovation and invention in HG’s products
What You’ll Need:
- 8+ years of technical, enterprise and SMB software product management experience
- Our ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience at the Senior Director level and experience in Big Data, professional services, and/or analytics solutions
- Demonstrated track record of delivering and deploying SaaS, Big Data, DaaS solutions on a global scale while managing the end-to-end product life cycle
- Proven ability to build consensus across an Executive Team on all aspects of the end-to-end product lifecycle with alignment to our company vision
- A proven mix of both technical and business acumen to effectively interact with Engineering, Sales, Marketing to support the product roadmap and elevate engagement with our customers
- Hands-on approach to mentoring teams and establishing a culture of immersive product management
- Experience working in start-up environments and ability to balance strategy with changing business needs
- Ability to communicate effectively across audiences: a product evangelist to our customers to trusted leader in executive briefings and board meetings
- Strong working understanding of technology and data landscape and ability to identify partners to scale a product roadmap
- Experience making complex data actionable via a comprehensive product strategy
- Experience leading product teams in Agile or Scrum methodologies
- We prefer a candidate who is based in Santa Barbara, but willing to consider a remote candidate willing to travel 50% of the time
