Job Description

As Technical Agriculture Manager you will be responsible as part of a team for the day to day running and performance of the KGS business.

You will effectively co- manage with the General Agriculture both full time and seasonal staff on a day-to-day basis and ensure a consistent and safe approach to the work as directed by the KFL Head of Agriculture.

Working closely with both the Factory & their grower supply base to ensure timely collection and reporting of data on size, yields, fry quality, tuber defects, sugars & yield.

You will work closely with the KFL Head of Ag to build a portfolio of growers, volumes and varieties to assist with him and his fellow colleagues to re-engage with local growers and increase KFL annual volume back up to a targeted 50% of the KFL annual volume.

Qualifications

• First line management and able to demonstrate that effectively, leading and growing your team to ensure the success of the business
• Somebody who is comfortable working both outside & indoors, has an eye for detail and has good organisation/communication skills.
• Experience of the potato sector or agriculture essential.
• Capable of communicating effectively with farm staff and Senior Factory managers.
• A valid, clean driving licence is essential.
• A flexible attitude to working hours and conditions when necessary.
• This is a multi-skilled role that would suit a self-motivator that thrives in different environments and can both work on their own and as part of a team.
• Capable and willing to step into a more commercial facing role at times of the year
• Willing to take on projects and training when requested to help broaden their skill set.
