ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an Operations Manager to lead the coordination and smooth operation of a TechOps team. This role requires expertise in deployment management, interface rollouts, and extensive collaboration with Scrum teams and partner systems. As the primary point of contact for deployment activities and operational support, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, high-quality releases and troubleshoot any issues. This position involves out-of-office work and on-call duties to provide continuous support, including some weekend availability.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and lead the TechOps team in deployment management activities, including preparation, implementation, and testing for both standard and large-scale releases.
  • Oversee rollout and go-live interfaces, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
  • Participate in MI (Management Information) calls to provide operational updates and manage key performance metrics.
  • Conduct monitoring and root cause analysis to resolve issues efficiently, using tools such as ELK, Kibana, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Handle budget and license management to optimize resource allocation and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with approximately 40 Scrum teams and over 50 partner systems, maintaining clear communication and alignment.
  • Manage CI/CD processes and pipelines using tools like GitLab and ArgoCD.
  • Provide AWS platform engineering support, specifically in managing services like EC2, EKS, Lambda, Route 53, and RDS/Aurora.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and occasional weekend shifts to ensure uninterrupted operational support.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Technical Skills:

  • Proven experience coordinating TechOps or DevOps teams, with a strong understanding of deployment management.
  • Expertise in monitoring tools (ELK, Kibana, Prometheus, Grafana) for system performance and root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD processes and tools (GitLab, ArgoCD).
  • Experience with AWS platform engineering, particularly with EC2, EKS, Lambda, Route 53, and RDS/Aurora.
  • Knowledge of ITIL and AMS Consulting practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, for effective coordination with development teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in English and German for effective communication.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with multiple Scrum teams and partner systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and proactive in resolving technical and operational issues.
  • Flexibility for on-call duties and occasional weekend work.
  • Strong organizational and budget management abilities.
