GI Technician I

• Assesses patient pre-procedure and performs patient monitoring intra and post procedure.


• Performs I.V. starts on patients.


• Maintains equipment in operational condition by sending out for repair or requesting replacement.


• Maintains logs of equipment housed in department.


• Assists provider with endoscopic procedures by working with physician or charge nurse. Performs cleaning of scopes per established procedures within department.


• May participate in the orientation and training of personnel.


• Establishes and maintains courteous and cooperative relations with members, patients and staff.


• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• One (1) year experience in acute care or abulatory care assisting in the performance of endoscopic procedures.


• Per the National Agreement, current KP Coalition employees have this experience requirement waived.
