Job Purpose:

The purpose of the role is to drive the demonstration of value for Kyowa Kirin’s (KK) current and future portfolio, optimizing the demonstration of patient benefit and achieving access, with a strong focus on Outcomes Research (OR), (for example Patient-reported Outcomes (PROs), Clinician-reported Outcomes, Performance Outcomes and Observer-Reported Outcomes), Health Economics (HE) and Real-World Data (RWD) sources and Real-World Evidence (RWE). The Global HEOR Head is responsible for developing global HEOR strategies of current and future portfolio of products in collaboration with Global Medical Affairs Therapeutic Area (TA) Heads. The incumbent is also responsible for building capability in the HEOR function in KK to deliver compelling evidence for current and future products.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead global HEOR strategies of KK products, in alignment with the integrated evidence generation plans lead by the global TA heads.
  • Assess the global value evidence requirements of the KK pipeline products through cross-functional stakeholder insights and, in alignment with the global TA heads, contribute to prioritizing evidence gaps, and contribute to developing and implementing HEOR/RWE plans to address these data gaps.
  • In alignment with the global TA heads, manage and implement key HEOR aspects of evidence generation strategies to support KK pipeline products and inform the target product profile (TPP), including early health economic modelling, PROs, burden/cost of illness and innovative retrospective and prospective RWE studies.
  • Collaborate closely with global matrix disciplines such as Clinical Development, Regulatory, Market Access, Commercial Leads and Global Medical Affairs (in particular the TA heads) to influence and ensure integration of strategy and health outcomes studies/data to support internal decision-making during product development, commercialization and throughout life cycle management of the asset.
  • Ensure that the patient’s voice is included in product development and demonstration of unmet need utilizing public and patient involvement as appropriate for selection, development and validation of global PRO/clinical outcome assessment (COA) endpoint strategies to support registration, reimbursement and differentiation of KK products.
  • Ensure the development, delivery and support for robust health economic models to support market access submissions globally, providing support for all country economic submissions.
  • Lead planning of global communication and dissemination of new HEOR data through effective publication planning in collaboration with Global Medical Therapeutic Area/Product Head.
  • Project and vendor management. Track and adjust global HEOR projects across team and with external contractors and suppliers to ensure delivery on time, to budget and in accordance with user specifications.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders through appropriate company processes in ensuring quality of deliverables, including review and sign-off of project specifications, protocols, data analysis plans, final study reports, publications.
  • Provide review via Global Medical Affairs Committee and support Regions/Affiliates to ensure local HEOR plans and data is of high quality and will meet evidence needs.
  • Be the “go to” person on all matters related to HEOR, building a high-quality function to deliver innovative approaches to meet the needs of stakeholders today and in the future.
  • Build, lead and manage an HEOR team that works cross-functionally within the Therapy Areas and Regional/Local functions to shape strategies and deliver HEOR.
  • Deliver high quality education and training sessions of HEOR data generation across the Kyowa Kirin organization.
  • Develop strong positive external relationships with senior HEOR and RWE experts, therapy opinion leaders and academia.

Position Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or higher in health outcomes, health economics, epidemiology, pharmacy, health or life sciences.
  • Significant leadership experience in leading HEOR teams to work cross-functionally.
  • Significant experience (more than 10 Years) in health outcomes or an aligned discipline/function.
  • Significant experience in multiple regions like North America/Europe/Asia etc.
  • Pharmaceutical experience that includes evidence generation to support drug development demonstrating the value of our products to patients, physicians and payors.
  • Strong technical knowledge in key areas including amongst others patient centered outcomes, registries, economic modelling and observational studies.
  • Exceptional inter-personal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent project management skills to successfully operate as a functional lead in cross-functional teams to identify needs and develop health outcomes strategies.

  • Regional and International travel may be required
