The buzzing Canva London campus features several buildings around beautiful leafy Hoxton Square in Shoreditch. While our global headquarters is in Sydney Australia London is our HQ for Europe with all kinds of teams based here plus event spaces to gather our team and communities. About the Team Pexels is one of the largest stock image libraries in the world and is made up of a talented community of photographers and videographers from across the globe. The Pexels Community team is focused on celebrating highlighting and nurturing photographers from around the world and supporting them in their pursuit of excelling in their craft. We give members a platform to share content that highlights the diversity specialties and uniqueness of their country. All of this imagery is used by millions of creatives around the globe.
About the Role As Head of Community you’ll lead the global vision for how Pexels connects celebrates and empowers its contributors — the creators who make Pexels what it is.
You’ll shape the future of our creator ecosystem: nurturing relationships driving engagement and turning contributors into passionate advocates for Pexels. Working closely with Product Brand and Marketing you’ll ensure the creator voice is deeply embedded in everything we do — from new platform features to storytelling and events.
This is a strategic leadership role that blends creativity connection and community growth. You’ll lead a distributed team of community managers across the globe building a culture of trust collaboration and shared purpose.
What you’ll do
Community Strategy & Leadership:
Set the Vision

Define and execute Pexels’ global community strategy to grow engage and celebrate photographers videographers and creators worldwide.

Create a long-term roadmap for how community connection drives Pexels’ brand product and impact.

Set clear goals and performance metrics that align community growth and engagement with company objectives.
Lead and Empower Teams
-
Lead and mentor a high-performing globally distributed team of community managers and ambassadors.

Build scalable systems rituals and playbooks that empower the team to work creatively collaboratively and autonomously.

Foster a culture of innovation accountability and professional growth within the community team.
Build Connection and Belonging
-
Design scalable online and offline programs — from global campaigns and creative challenges to local meetups — that strengthen connection and foster belonging.

Celebrate creator stories and achievements ensuring their voices are heard and amplified across all Pexels touchpoints.

Implement systems and tools that streamline community operations and enable meaningful engagement at scale.
Collaborate Across Pexels and Canva

Partner with Product and Design teams to bring community insights into new features and creator tools.

Work with Brand Content and Marketing teams to integrate authentic creator storytelling into global campaigns that inspire participation and advocacy.

Collaborate with Data and Operations to measure analyze and continually improve community impact and contributor growth.
Champion the Creator Voice

Advocate for creators across the organization ensuring their needs ideas and successes shape how we build and grow the platform.

Develop initiatives that turn engaged contributors into advocates mentors and long-term champions of Pexels.

Use data-driven insights to identify growth opportunities strengthen retention and deepen creator impact globally.
What we're looking for
-
8+ years of experience building and scaling global community programs ideally in a creator content or platform-driven environment.

Proven leadership experience managing distributed teams and fostering a culture of collaboration and impact.

Demonstrated ability to design and execute community strategies that drive measurable growth and engagement.

Strong partnership skills — you’ve worked cross-functionally with Product Brand and Marketing teams to bring community insights to life.

Skilled in developing and executing large-scale campaigns ambassador programs and community events—both online and in-person.
-
Excellent people and project management skills with the ability to balance long-term strategy and hands-on execution.

Strong analytical mindset with the ability to track KPIs translate insights into strategy and communicate impact clearly.

Exceptional communication and storytelling skills with the ability to represent Pexels’ community voice internally and externally.

Passion for creativity photography and empowering creators around the world.
