What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start but this will likely evolve.

We're seeking an exceptional Global Head of FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) to lead our world-class finance team driving strategy and business insight across Canva as we continue our hypergrowth journey. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer you will be a strategic partner providing critical insights and guidance to the executive leadership team and driving financial performance across the organization. You will collaborate with the wider leadership team (e.g. GTM Marketing Growth People Product Technology) to help fuel Canva’s growth and ensure financial excellence. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience in FP&A or Corporate Finance with a proven track record of success in both private and public companies.

At the moment the role is focused on:

  • Lead and inspire: Manage and mentor a high-performing global FP&A team fostering a culture of collaboration innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Strategic financial planning: Develop and oversee the annual budget long-range financial plans and forecasting processes aligning financial strategy with Canva's ambitious growth objectives.

  • Financial management: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) analyze financial results and provide insightful reporting and analysis to senior leadership highlighting trends risks and opportunities.

  • Business partnering: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (including Engineering Product Marketing and Sales) to provide financial expertise and support strategic decision-making.

  • Investment analysis: Evaluate potential investments acquisitions and strategic initiatives providing rigorous financial modeling and recommendations.

  • Drive efficiency: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the FP&A function.

  • Executive communication: Prepare and present clear concise financial reports and presentations to the executive team and the Board of Directors.

  • Systems and tools: Scale financial systems and processes with a focus on automation and AI-driven insights.

You’re probably a match if you have:

  • Proven experience as a senior finance leader within a global high-growth technology company.

  • Deep understanding of financial planning forecasting budgeting and financial modeling techniques.

  • A strong command of SaaS metrics: ARR CAC LTV churn etc.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand and influence business strategy.

  • Excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams in a global fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in financial systems (e.g. NetSuite Anaplan and AI-driven technology)

  • A passion for Canva's mission and a genuine desire to make a positive impact.

At Canva we value fairness and we strive to provide competitive market-informed compensation whilst ensuring internal equity within the team in each region. We make hiring decisions based on your skills experience and our overall assessment of what we observed and learned in the hiring process. The salary range for this position is $271000 to $408000. When calculating offers we make salary decisions based on market data and candidates' skills and experience.

The structure of total compensation may vary based on location to align with local regulations standards and practices. (Example: Based in Sydney Australia).
