Job Description

The role will be based in either Shanghai or Taipei. As a Manufacturing Sustain Engineer, you will play a key role in the technical domain, responsible for sustaining SSD High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) at the ODM. Your goal will be to ensure that both manufacturing processes and production outputs consistently meet quality standards and cost targets. You will work closely with various technical teams, including design, test & validation engineers, QRE, NPI manufacturing engineers, global supply chain management, and ODM suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage early with NPI process development teams to influence DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly).
  • Co-own manufacturing recipe characterization with NPI teams, define CTF (Critical-to-Function) process parameters, and monitor NPI execution to ensure process capability is fully demonstrated before transitioning to HVM.
  • Based on capacity demand, take ownership of new site or production line start-up/certification, process and equipment qualification, and review and approve engineering whitepapers.
  • Continuously improve production yield, quality, and process/module stability, while driving cost reduction through lean projects.
  • Lead HVM standard and process change control, chairing/driving the Process Change Control Board (PCCB). Ensure sufficient engineering data review and qualification coverage to support change request approvals.
  • Lead manufacturing excursion management, chairing/driving the Material Review Board (MRB). Use technical risk assessments (TRA) and failure analysis (FA) data to pull in the right engineering support teams to quickly identify root causes, implement risk mitigation plans, corrective actions, and systematic fixes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Mechanical, Material, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Boards/Modules manufacturing engineering.
  • Strong knowledge in SMT, module assembly, material sourcing, selection and qualification, failure analysis related to assembly processes, and excursion management.
  • Proven expertise in utilizing 5-Whys root cause analysis, PFMEA, DOE, SPC, troubleshooting, excursion control, and structural problem-solving.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders effectively.
  • Passion for system manufacturing assembly and driving continuous improvement through LEAN, Six Sigma, and World Class Manufacturing techniques.

  • Program management knowledge.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in English.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken Chinese is required.
