As a Customer Engineer, you will collaborate with Google’s Sales and Engineering teams, while being a trusted technical advisor to our customers, guiding them through the complexities of Google Cloud technologies and helping them achieve their business objectives. You will work with clients to understand their unique challenges, design and deploy innovative solutions, and provide ongoing support to foster growth and innovation. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about working with cutting-edge technology to solve real-world problems. *Note - we are looking to fill the position in either Austin, TX, or at our head office in Victoria, BC, Canada* ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES • Technical Expertise:Possess a strong understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its core services, with hands-on experience in cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes, containers, and serverless computing. • Solution Design and Deployment:Design and deploy innovative solutions tailored to the unique needs of each customer, potentially involving technologies like Kubernetes, serverless computing, machine learning, and data analytics. • Technical Advisory:Act as a trusted technical advisor to customer technical teams, providing guidance on best practices for cloud adoption, optimization, and efficient utilization of GCP services. • Customer Success Focus:Demonstrate a passion for helping customers succeed and achieve their goals on Google Cloud. • Collaboration:Work closely with Google's Sales and Engineering teams to ensure alignment, and collaborate with Premier Cloud's sales and delivery teams to provide a seamless customer experience. • Continuous Learning:Stay up-to-date on the latest Google Cloud technologies and industry trends to provide the best possible guidance to clients and maintain a high level of technical expertise. • Pre-sales Technical Support:Participate in pre-sales activities, including technical presentations, solution demonstrations, and proof-of-concept development, working closely with the sales team to qualify opportunities and develop winning proposals. ROLE REQUIREMENTS / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience:3+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role, such as sales engineering, solutions architecture, or consulting. • Cloud Proficiency:Deep understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies, with hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). • Technical Skills:Proficiency in cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes, containers, and serverless computing. Experience with infrastructure-as-code, automation tools, and scripting languages. • Communication Skills:Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. • Presentation Skills:Proficient in leading technical presentations and product demonstrations. • Problem-Solving:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and identify solutions. • Collaboration:Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues and customers. Preferred Qualifications: • Certifications:Google Cloud certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Data Engineer). • Industry Knowledge:Familiarity with specific industry verticals and their unique cloud computing needs. • DevOps Knowledge:Understanding of DevOps practices and principles. • AWS/Azure Knowledge:Familiarity with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
