JARC provides high quality skills training and support services to help lower-income and unemployed workers achieve self-sufficiency. JARC provides economic and workforce development services to businesses to improve their competitiveness. JARC helps low-income workers, job seekers and community residents attain financial self-sufficiency through skills training and support services. JARC’s job training programs target strategic skills gaps in the manufacturing, such as Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinist and welder. As a Financial Opportunity Center (FOC), JARC provides bundled financial support services, such as income supports, financial coaching and employment services. Position Summary The Grants Accountant Manager position oversees budget development, grant reporting, invoicing, and compliance, serving as the primary financial liaison for assigned funders. The role also supports audit readiness and financial process improvement. This position works across all JARC regional sites. Essential Duties • Develop, prepare, and revise grant budgets to ensure alignment with funder requirements, program goals, and the organization’s mission. • Monitor financial performance across the grant lifecycle, proactively recommending adjustments to support programmatic success and fiscal responsibility. • Ensure all budget modifications and financial activities adhere to internal controls, funding guidelines, and nonprofit best practices. • Prepare and submit timely, accurate invoices, reimbursement requests, and grant reports in accordance with grant terms. • Support the refinement of internal financial procedures to enhance transparency, compliance, and reporting accuracy. • Collaborate closely with program and development teams to gather accurate financial data and ensure alignment between spending and program deliverables. • Act as the primary financial point of contact for assigned grants, maintaining strong relationships with funders and participating in funder meetings, trainings, and audits. • Provide training and support to staff on grant compliance, budget management, and financial reporting protocols. • Ensure that financial allocations reflect and support programmatic priorities and outcomes. • Initiate the preparation and monthly updates of grant allocation goals, ensuring consistency with program activities and staffing. Oversight Functions • Reconcile staff time allocations (FTEs) with payroll data and grant budgets to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Monitor compliance with applicable federal, state, and private grant regulations, including Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200). Etc. • Assist with annual audits by preparing key schedules (e.g., SEFA, CYEFR, net assets, etc.) and addressing auditor inquiries. • Track grant revenues and expenditures to ensure funds are used as intended and recognized in a timely, accurate manner. • Prepare internal financial reports and variance analyses to inform program and leadership decision-making. • Complete required financial reports for funders, including interim and final statements. • Maintain up-to-date internal tracking tools such as the Schedule of Federal Awards and Net Asset Schedules, etc. • Ensure all grant-related records, approvals, and communications are well-documented and readily accessible for audit and reporting purposes. Team Functions • Contributes to agency’s continuous quality improvement efforts • Contribute to JARC’s culture of maintaining a warm and welcoming environment and continuous quality improvement efforts • Collaborates with all JARC departments Requirements/ Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. • Minimum 5 years of accounting or financial management experience, preferably in a nonprofit or government-funded environment. With at least 2 years of experience managing government and private grants, including budgeting and reporting. • Strong knowledge of federal grant regulations (e.g., 2 CFR Part 200) and compliance with best practices. • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intaact, etc.), Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat. • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail. • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate across teams and communicate with external stakeholders.
