Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-orientedGraphic Artistto join our flexible packaging team. This role is critical in preparing and maintaining the digital assets needed to produce high-quality packaging graphics for flexographic printing. The ideal candidate will have strong technical proficiency in design and prepress software, a deep understanding of printing processes, and a collaborative mindset for working with both internal teams and clients.
This position involves translating client packaging concepts into production-ready art files while maintaining the integrity of design and print quality. You'll play a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction and successful on-press outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with clients to bring their packaging vision to life while constructively integrating feedback.
• Present concepts and designs professionally, aligning visuals with client brand guidelines and expectations.
• Translate customer concepts into accurate, print-ready production art files for flexographic presses.
• Design rough layouts, incorporating typography, imagery, and brand elements into cohesive packaging solutions.
• Maintain a consistent workflow in graphics production, ensuring timely and precise output of files.
• Work closely with internal teams—including prepress, sales, and production—to meet project timelines and specifications.
• Support outside vendors or print service providers when needed, ensuring consistent quality and color management.
• Stay current with design tools, software updates, and packaging industry standards.
• Use Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other prepress tools to prepare and finalize art for print.
• Ensure designs meet all technical print and packaging requirements including dielines, bleeds, trapping, and resolution standards.
• May advise clients on FDA labeling requirements or packaging compliance, with final content approval resting with the customer.
• Monitor and ensure overall print quality, identifying and correcting potential design or production issues before press.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in packaging design and flexographic printing processes is a MUST.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop on PC platforms; experience in a prepress production environment is essential.
• Strong knowledge of digital file management, color theory, and print production standards.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
• Ability to troubleshoot file or printing issues and provide proactive solutions.
• Working knowledge of FDA labeling guidelines for food packaging is a plus.
