Graphic Designer

At Emi Labs we are on a mission to increase Frontline Workers’ access to professional opportunities.

This is a 2.7 billion population that accounts for 80% of the world’s workforce. They are digitally invisible, as there’s little to no data available on who they are, their career history, or their skill set, limiting their access to professional opportunities and growth. We're here to transform this by building the infrastructure to make Frontline Workers visible. 

Our first step to achieving our mission is to transform the recruiting experience into an easy, human and fair process, for both candidates and companies with high-volume job openings.

Emi, our main product, is an A.I. recruitment assistant that enables companies to engage in a conversation with each applicant to detect interested and qualified individuals while saving Recruiters a huge amount of time by automating tasks such as screening, validating skills, scheduling interviews, and collecting documents. 

We were part of Y-Combinator's Winter 2019 batch and in 2022 we have raised an $11M funding round co-led by Merus Capital and Khosla Ventures.

About the Marketing Team

Our marketing team is a small, growing team responsible for generating leads for our business, creating brand awareness, organizing events, and generating different types of content across platforms. We work closely with teams across Emi, including Sales and Customer Success. Our team is highly collaborative, proactive, and fast-moving.

About the role

As a Graphic Designer on the Emi marketing team, you'll be responsible for strategic and tactical design outputs, creating visually compelling branded materials and graphics across various digital and live platforms.

Tasks & Activities

• Design Creation and Execution: Develop designs for marketing campaigns, product branding, social media, and presentations that align with the brand's identity and objectives.
• Brand Development: Maintain and evolve brand guidelines for consistency across all platforms, contributing to the visual identity.
• Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with marketing, product, and content teams to deliver cohesive campaigns. Mentor junior designers and foster a creative, collaborative culture.
• Project Management: Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery. Collaborate with external agencies or other team members when necessary.
• This role is also expected to support other marketing initiatives as needed, including events, social media, website, and demand generation efforts and campaigns.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Marketing, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in graphic design, including web, print, and video.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, Canva, and other relevant software.
• Strong understanding of branding, typography, layout, and color theory.
• Experience in a fast-paced, startup-like environment with the ability to switch between strategic and tactical tasks.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present and explain design concepts.
• Familiarity with motion graphics tools (After Effects, Premiere Pro) and video design with basic video editing.
• Knowledge of UX/UI design principles and tools (Figma, Sketch) and basic HTML/CSS for design implementation.
