Job Summary

Sam Schwartz, a TYLin Company is seeking a creative individual to join an interdisciplinary team of consultants (planning, graphic design, data analysis, transportation engineering) in preparing presentations and graphics to communicate transportation planning concepts. Working primarily with our airport planning teams, this Graphic Designer should have an interest in learning about and working on landside transportation operations at airports and other complex facilities.
The success of our work is often dependent on our ability to visually communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences, including government decisionmakers; other practitioners; and community stakeholders. Examples of previous work products include presentations, print collateral, infographics, thematic maps, wayfinding concepts and installations, and animations.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities include:

• Contribute to and manage the design and production of presentations and reports
• Design and create thematic maps, charts, and diagrams
• Produce public communication materials including brochures and newsletters
• Develop infographics to communicate transportation and planning concepts
• Contribute to growing multimedia work; experience and interest in web design, video editing, or motion graphics is a plus

• Have interest transportation and urban planning
• Contribute creatively to design and idea generation
• Understand the elements of graphic design and employ its principles
• Be able to both collaborate with a team and work autonomously
• Enjoy identifying and proposing the best way to communicate a given concept
• Take initiative in learning new techniques, skills, and software 

Skills and Qualifications
The candidate should possess the following qualities:

• 1 to 5 years of graphic design experience
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, art, communication, or a related field
• Excellent graphic and verbal communication skills
• Mastery of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
• Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite (particularly, PowerPoint)
• Familiarity with web design (HTML, CSS, Java) is a plus
• Familiarity with video editing platforms, including PremierePro and AfterEffects is a plus 
• Familiarity with large-scale printing and on-site installation coordination is a plus
