JOB SUMMARY The Graphic Designer is responsible for the design and production of publications including ads, brochures, posters, flyers, and other documents. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Create publication art elements. Use creative skills to formulate concepts and prepare illustrations from models, sketches, photographs, etc. , into computerized design. Scan document and art in preparation for their use in publications. Solicit quotes for ad costs, printing, and production costs. Work with faculty and staff to develop marketing strategies and materials. Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required. QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience • Associate’s degree in Graphic Art required • 4 years of directly-related work experience may be considered in lieu of required degree • 3 years’ experience required • Experience in an institution of higher education, preferably in a community college preferred • A sample of a professional portfolio required at the time of interview Licensing & Certification • Valid Texas Driver License Special Skills • MS Office Programs • Page Layout Applications • Writing and Artistic Skills Competencies • Delivering High Quality Work • Accepting Responsibility • Serving Customers • Supporting Organizational Goals • Driving Continuous Improvement • Acting with Integrity • Thinking Critically • Managing Change • Communicating Effectively Working Conditions General Office.
