Graphic Designer and Print Shop Manager
Position Overview:Brophy College Preparatory seeks a highly creative and organized Graphic
Designer & Print Shop Manager. This role will be responsible for the design, production, and art
direction of a variety of materials in support of the administration, faculty, and staff. This role
requires a creative individual who can manage projects and timelines from concept to
completion, ensuring high-quality design that aligns with the school’s mission and values. This
individual will also oversee the daily operations of Brophy’s state-of-the-art, 1,000-square-foot
print shop, which produces nearly one million prints annually, and help direct the work of a print
shop assistant.

Essential Responsibilities:
The essential responsibilities of the Graphic Designer & Print Shop Manager include the
following areas:
Design and Production
• Design a wide range of materials, including posters, brochures, magazines, annual
reports, logos, stationery, banners, slide decks, and large-scale wall graphics.
• Develop layout and cover design for school publications, including printed programs,
magazines, and special event materials.
• Collaborate closely with the administration, faculty, and staff to ensure designs meet
project needs while maintaining consistency with Brophy’s visual identity.
• Provide creative input on design concepts, art direction, and layout solutions.
• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, from initial concept through final
production, ensuring high quality and adherence to deadlines.
Art Direction and Brand Consistency
• Lead the visual style and creative direction for projects across print and digital media.
• Work with internal stakeholders to ensure cohesive visual storytelling across campaigns,
publications, and events.
• Maintain and enforce design, brand, and style guidelines across all materials and
platforms.Print Shop Management
• Oversee the daily operations of the school’s print shop, ensuring efficient and
high-quality production of printed materials.
• Manage print production workflows, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure efficient
operations.
• Maintain equipment, order supplies, and track inventory to support continuous
production.
• Coordinate service and maintenance scheduling with vendors.
Team Management and Collaboration
• Partner with and help direct the work of the print shop assistant to ensure timely,
high-quality output.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to print shop personnel and student workers
as needed.
Project Management and Communication
• Balance immediate, mid-range, and long-term design and print projects, ensuring
deadlines are met.
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to gather project requirements and
deliver creative solutions within established timelines.

Required Qualifications:
• Extensive experience in graphic design, with a portfolio showcasing your expertise across various design formats (print and digital).
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Strong knowledge of print production processes, including prepress, color management, and file preparation for print.
• Exceptional design, typography, and layout skills, with a keen eye for detail and creativity.
• Strong ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and understand their design needs.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems creatively, and take initiative.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with large-format printing and signage design.
• Experience with booklet creation, posters, and full-bleed printing is preferred.
• Familiarity with print shop management and basic equipment maintenance.
• Previous experience working in an educational environment is a plus.
Physical Demands:
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
