Graphic Designer - Cannabis Industry

WE ARE TRADITIONAL: A progressive company with offices in downtown Los Angeles, California that has extensive experience in all areas of the legal cannabis industry. We have developed world-class facilities and vertically integrated businesses for the production, manufacturing, distribution, and sale of cannabis. Position Overview: The Graphic Designer works on various design activities relating to the company’s products and strategic objectives. The general duties of this position include branding design, digital marketing support, social media support, and general design support. The Graphic Designer positon plays a pivotal role in the company’s public perception. This position is responsible for shaping the company’s brand image. It must represent and promote the values and priorities of the company in every single design. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to Marketing Director EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: General Duties (Not Exhaustive of all Duties) • Develop packaging graphics, illustrations, logos and other designs using software • Create engaging concepts that help connect consumers with our brands • Create or edit printed materials such as brochures, catalogs, displays and ads • Create or edit images and photos in Photoshop, Illustrator and similar design software Technology and Other Requirements: • Strong technical skills including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, MS Suite • Basic photography and light photo editing skills. • Excellent communication skills and judgment in working with customers and management. • Experience in professional graphic design and retail branding for consumer products, cannabis industry preferred. • Creative skills - portfolio displaying strategic, conceptual, and visual design skills required. • Proven work experience as a graphic designer. • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image, and video) • Passion about cannabis with the ability to learn and communicate our company’s story in a way that is strategic and engaging • Must be highly functional on a modern PC. • Proficiency with G Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Drive), security, and sharing knowledge. • Able to convert documents to PDF and other formats, troubleshoot document resolution issues. • Support the mission and spirit of the organization and be comfortable with cannabis • Be patient, proactive, positive, and a team player • Self-starting with solid follow-through and multi-tasking capabilities • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and challenging workload • Must interact effectively with all levels of management and staff; internally and externally EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. • B.A or B.S. in Marketing, Public Relations, Graphic Design or related field or equivalent work experience and associate’s degree. • 1-2 years related work experience. • Cannabis industry experience is a plus. • Working knowledge of computer programs as described. • Must be at least 21 years old and pass a criminal background check. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate a computer, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing. Requires close vision with the ability to see color and adjust focus. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is high-energy, fast-paced, and, due to the nature of the current regulatory landscape, often highly stressful. Position requires regular availability to work Monday through Friday from 10 am to 7 pm, occasional nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
