Paper Source and Barnes & Noble are looking for a Graphic Designer and Illustrator to develop creative and eye-catching designs and illustrations that resonate with the customer and reflects the brand aesthetics.
WhatYouDo:
• Creates original designs, illustrations, and typographic treatments to be applied to the development of proprietary product including greeting cards, calendars, gift product, gift wrap and more.
• Able to execute a broad range of illustration styles. Takes feedback and direction well and can adapt their style and work to fit the needs of each project.
• Demonstrates exceptional organizational and time management skills. Can prioritize and handle multiple projects to meet tight deadlines while maintaining a professional and positive attitude within a team environment.
• Participate in weekly product reviews with Design and Merchant team to present product concepts to broader group.
• Works well in both an independent and team environment, often collaborating with other designers.
• Keep current with trends in design, stationery, home goods, fashion and related industries to put toward use in seasonal inspiration/trend meetings.
Knowledge&Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design, illustration or a related field
• 3+ years of related design experience required
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and Procreate
• Solid knowledge of print production processes and terminology— typesetting, bleeds, die lines, color settings, preflight, etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with willingness and excitement to collaborate.
• Exhibits strong attention to detail, ensuring high quality work even on the simplest requests.
