Job Description

Position Overview The Graphic Designer will work on a wide range of print and digital design projects, including book layouts, marketing materials, packaging, and signage. This role requires close collaboration with our print production and publishing teams to prepare files for high-quality output on digital presses. The ideal candidate understands both the creative and technical aspects of print design. Key Responsibilities • Design and prepare print-ready files for books, catalogs, posters, packaging, and promotional materials. • Ensure all artwork meets printer specifications (bleeds, CMYK color profiles, imposition, resolution, etc.). • Collaborate with the production team to proof, adjust, and finalize files before printing. • Maintain brand consistency across multiple product lines and clients. • Create marketing materials for both Nutty Brown Press and ADI (social graphics, flyers, email headers, etc.). • Assist with prepress setup and quality checks, including color management and pagination. • Organize and maintain digital design files and templates. • Support new product development, including concept layouts and mockups. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field (or equivalent experience). • 2+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably with print production experience. • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat. • Familiarity with print production workflows and digital press specifications (Xerox, Kyocera, Duplo, etc.) preferred. • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Preferred Skills • Experience with book layout, saddle stitching, and perfect binding setup. • Understanding of color calibration and paper types. We print educational materials, books, catalogs, posters, and marketing collateral for schools, districts, and local businesses. Our in-house print team supports Argument-Driven Inquiry (ADI) and other education-focused brands. We’re looking for a talented and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to join our team and help bring print projects to life.
