Posting Summary
Rutgers University-Camden is seeking a part time Graphic Designer (Unit Administrator/ Specialist) for the Rutgers Camden Center for the Arts (RCCA). The Graphic Designer (Unit Administrator/Specialist) works under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Rutgers Camden Center for the Arts (RCCA) to produce graphic designs and other media in support of RCCA’s mission. Working in collaboration with two full-time program coordinators who will each serve as Art Director on design projects related to their programming, a staff person who writes copy, and with the FASC Web/Media staff, the incumbent will design visuals for RCCA fundraising, marketing, education and exhibition needs, to include such projects as: exhibition catalogs; educational gallery guides; exhibition identities applied to print and digital promotional materials (postcards; posters; social media); program brochures; annual reports; annual appeal letters; fundraising proposals; educational program promotions; and other items. The Designer will manage design projects according to professional practice standards, will liaison with contracted printers and lead that process for the RCCA team. The Designer will update the website and social media.
Job Duties and Responsibilities to include the following:
• Designing and editing print materials such as posters, brochures, monthly newsletter, catalogs, etc.
• Designing digital materials for web and social media
• Collecting and organizing events for timely promotion
• Occassionally writing promotional copy for social media, email blasts, and newsletters
• Editing and maintaining the department website on WordPress
• Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department programs
• This position is grant funded, and temporary.

Salary Details
This position is expected to pay a minimum hourly salary of $23 per hour.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Requires up to two years relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The Designer must have extensive knowledge of digital and print design and design programs (such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) and social media. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent time management and the ability to work independently, take initiative, and self-start . B.F.A or B.A. in Graphic Design or similar field. Must have an existing professional designer portfolio.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of video editing programs and WordPress is a plus.
