Job Description

Carousell is seeking a skilled Group Tax Associate Manager to join our corporate controllership team. In this role, you will work closely with finance teams across the organization, leveraging your expertise in tax within the APAC region. Reporting to the Group Head of Tax and Treasury in Bangalore, you will play a key role in shaping and executing our tax projects. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in managing tax function and a proven track record in the APAC market

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Ensure tax compliance and timely filing of returns - handle tax compliance processes for corporate income tax, indirect tax (eg GST, VAT, SST or equivalent), WHT, Stamp Duty. This requires working with the tax agents and the controllers to ensure that all returns are filed and payments are made within the prescribed timelines. 

• Review tax computations and provide tax advisory and support to business groups

• Collaborate with external professionals and local tax authorities to manage tax-related matters and address tax queries

• Tax Controversy – assist with tax enquiries/ tax audits for the key jurisdictions under coverage.

• Assist with tax provisioning 

• Transfer Pricing - assist with transfer pricing compliance obligations (where required).

• Analyze and interpret the impact of changes to laws and regulations on tax liabilities and tax structuring

Qualifications

You have:

• Qualified CA or CPA 

• Minimum 2+ years proven corporate tax and transactional tax experience preferably in Big 4 or in an e-commerce regional setup having a sound understanding of the current tax treatments

• Transfer Pricing knowledge and experience in managing in SEA region is a plus

• Creative problem solving skills and is process-driven 

• Experience in working in a fast-paced and high growth environment

• Good organizational and time management skills to deal with multiple deliverables and tight timelines

• Meticulous to detail and numbers-driven 

• Able to partner business partner with regional counterparts and is a problem solver 

• Independent, technically strong with a strategic and conceptual mindset, and a motivated team player
