We’re looking for a Hardware Design Engineer for IonQ Quantum, Inc. DBA IonQ in College Park, MD. As Hardware Design Engineer, you’ll be part of a cross-functional team whose mission is to lead IonQ on its journey to define and enable the world’s best quantum computers and keep IonQ at the forefront of the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Design, simulate, integrate, and test the circuit boards and control electronics that underpin quantum computing assemblies.
- Create schematics, facilitate device fabrication, and develop test procedures to leverage the quantum behavior of trapped-ion systems toward practical, user-end computer operations.
- Design field-programmable gate arrays to enable quantum systems to run algorithms based on the fully programmable manipulation of individual qubits.
- Provide technical guidance during the design-to-device transition.
- Perform device-level board design.
- Perform testing and generate compliance documentation.
- Provide technical guidance during the design-to-device transition.Â
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- 2 years experience performing:
- Low-noise/high-speed analog and digital circuit board design, fabrication and assembly and
- Digital systems testing and analysis
- Working knowledge of Altium schematic capture and layout tools (e.g., OrCAD and Allegro PCB) and pSPICE circuit simulation and modeling tools
Our HQ is located in College Park, Maryland and we are a 15 minute metro ride from Washington DC. We have also recently announced our new manufacturing and production facility in the Seattle, Washington area. We are actively building out teams in the Washington D.C., Seattle, Boston and Toronto metro areas and will want to locate you in one of these geographies. However, IonQ will be expanding into additional geographies both domestically and internationally so don’t let this stop you from applying.
