Head Accountant for Technology Startup

Salary:$150k - 175k per year + Medical Reference:Acct-SJ Job Title: Head Accountant with CPA Location: 100% Onsite – San Jose, CA Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role: We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Accountant with a CPA designation and a proven track record of 20+ years in corporate accounting and financial leadership. This individual will oversee the company’s accounting team and play a critical role in preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP, GAAS, and SEC reporting standards, and supporting the company’s upcoming IPO. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and manage the corporate accounting function, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP. • Oversee the preparation of financial statements and SEC filings. • Ensure adherence to GAAS and SEC standards for public company reporting. • Direct cost accounting, internal controls, and audit processes. • Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering best practices and accountability. • Partner with executive leadership on financial strategy and IPO readiness. Qualifications: • CPA required. • 20+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public company / SEC reporting. • Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and SEC requirements for publicly traded companies. • Experience with cost accounting and corporate financial management. • Proven leadership experience overseeing accounting teams. • Background in technology or related industries strongly preferred.
