ABOUT THE ROLEÂ
As the Head of Alumni Engagement at HyperionDev, you will oversee the growth, vitality, and long-term strategy relating to our Alumni network and community. This is a critical, new role within our Graduate Outcomes team (which included Career Services, Employer Relations, and Alumni Engagement) – one that requires strategic vision and a knack for cultivating engagement with our bootcamp grads across multiple programmes, regions, and countries. This role will oversee and line-manage a small but growing group of alumni-focused teammates, while also working cross-functionally with stakeholders across multiple teams (Marketing, Admissions, Career Services, Engineering, etc.) and will be responsible for achieving Key Performance Metrics related to alumni engagement and HyperionDev programme loyalty and evangelism.
In this role, you will also be tasked with taking charge of our Alumni Engagement roadmap. This will include building out new initiatives such as our alumni advisory board and alumni mentorship programme, while also expanding on and improving existing alumni engagement initiatives such as our Alumni events schedule, alumni community resources, and driving of alumni success stories. This role will also require analytical thinking related to the tracking of alumni numbers and employment activity across our different programme tracks. This person must also possess an entrepreneurial mindset and be comfortable with ambiguity while leading on the exploration of new tools and resources to support alumni community growth.
To succeed in this role, you need to be able to think strategically and prioritise effectively in order to deliver on aggressive targets related to alumni engagement & community building. It will require someone with an endeavouring mindset who can manage multiple tasks and deadlines while keeping sight of bigger picture goals as it relates to alumni engagement. This role will also require strong people skills and an empathetic approach – qualities necessary driving success with internal stakeholders and across community engagement initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the build-out and management of the Alumni Relations sub-team within Graduate Outcomes part of the organization.
- Drive the strategic vision and roadmap related to Alumni Engagement and Evangelism for the HyperionDev brand and bootcamp programs.
- Work Cross-functionally with internal teams to execute on initiatives tied to alumni success stories, brand growth, and alumni content (social media, email content newsletters, blog posts, etc.)
- Build out Alumni Events Strategy and a forward-looking Event Calendar.
- Create & document new operating procedures & resources for the Alumni team.
- Oversee the development of HyperionDev’s Alumni Mentorship program & Alumni Advisory Board.
- Oversee the Alumni team budget, resource, and headcount planning.
- Work with Data and Engineering Teams to create new dashboards related to Alumni tracking and accurate Alumni numbers across all bootcamp programs.
- Work closely with HyperionDev’s Head of Career Services and Sr. Director of Graduate Outcomes on Graduate Resources and Alumni Employer initiatives.
- Work with HyperionDev’s Marketing team to drive monthly Alumni success stories & testimonials.
- Lead onboarding support for HyperionDev’s graduate program (designed to help support recent grads in their career prep).
 REQUIREMENTSMinimum
- 5+ years of experience involved in a community building, alumni engagement, or an events-focused role.
- 3+ years of Account Management or Project Management experience.
- 3+ years of direct team leadership or line management experience.
- Strong business acumen and existing knowledge of community engagement tools, platforms, and processes.
- Experience leading on time-sensitive projects and project budgeting.
- Empathetic approach with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with project management tools (ex: Basecamp, Jira, Asana, etc.).
- Analytical approach and familiarity with data analysis tools (Google Sheets, Excel, Looker, Metabase, etc.).
PreferredÂ
- A degree in Marketing, Branding, Communications, or other relevant field from an accredited university or equivalent experience.Â
- 3+ years of experience working in Education or tech
- Prior start-up work experience for a fast-growing company. Â
- Prior experience working with teammates across multiple markets.
- CRM experience a plus.
