Given the great success of A5 Labs we are now looking to appoint a Head of CloudOps to help our Engineering Team and Company scale up at speed. We are seeking a self-starter who is experienced in evaluating the needs of our fast-growing company and can shape and grow our CloudOps capabilities in line with the business growth.
As the Head of Cloud Operations (CloudOps) at A5 Labs you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth efficient and secure operation of our cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our cloud environment including architecture design deployment maintenance optimization and security.
Responsibilities
- Cloud Infrastructure Management:
Lead the design implementation and management of our cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud.
Oversee the provisioning scaling and optimization of cloud resources to support our poker platform's performance and scalability requirements.
Implement best practices for cloud resource management cost optimization and capacity planning.
- System Reliability and Performance:
Ensure high availability reliability and performance of our cloud-based systems through proactive monitoring troubleshooting and optimization.
Implement robust disaster recovery and failover mechanisms to minimize downtime and data loss.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address performance bottlenecks and scalability challenges.
Develop and implement comprehensive security policies procedures and controls to safeguard our cloud infrastructure and sensitive data.
Stay abreast of emerging security threats and vulnerabilities and implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g. GDPR PCI DSS) related to data privacy and security.
- Team Leadership and Development:
Build and lead a high-performing CloudOps team providing mentorship guidance and support to team members.
Foster a culture of collaboration innovation and continuous learning within the CloudOps team.
Define clear goals and performance metrics for the team and regularly assess and optimize team performance.
Manage relationships with cloud service providers technology vendors and third-party partners ensuring effective collaboration and service delivery.
Evaluate new cloud technologies and services and make recommendations for adoption based on business needs and strategic objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- Extensive experience of 7-10 years in cloud infrastructure management with a focus on AWS Azure or Google Cloud.
- Proven track record of designing building and managing highly available scalable and secure cloud architectures.
- Strong expertise in cloud automation configuration management and infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform CloudFormation).
- In-depth knowledge of cloud security best practices identity and access management (IAM) and encryption techniques.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
