The Design Team

The Design Team plays a vital role in shaping Masabi’s products ensuring they meet both functional needs and provide exceptional user experiences. Whether designing pixel-perfect interfaces for mobile apps or crafting user flows for contactless ticketing at fare gates we are driven by a passion for quality exploration of new ideas and a focus on pragmatic impactful outcomes. Collaborating closely with development teams in an agile environment we turn concepts into products that delight users and help drive the company forward.

The Role

As Head of Product Design you will be a key leader in shaping and executing the design vision for the Justride platform. You will oversee the design strategy for all Masabi products ensuring cohesive and intuitive experiences and will drive the development of innovative human-centred design solutions that make life easier for millions of transport users across the globe.

Leading a small talented team of designers you will work to define and shape the look and feel of the entire Justride product: from concept and prototyping to delivering the finished article. You’ll work cross-functionally with product managers engineers and business leaders to build world-class products from concept through to launch. Location: this role is available for UK based candidates in either a hybrid or remote model.

Responsibilities

• Design Leadership: Lead inspire and mentor a growing team of product designers fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

• Strategic Vision: Shape the overall design direction for Masabi’s product portfolio aligning with business goals and user needs.

• Hands-On Design: Contribute directly to product design work creating beautiful user-centred designs for mobile web and SDK platforms. You'll balance leadership duties with time spent actively working on key projects.

• Collaboration: Partner closely with product engineering and business development teams to drive innovation ensuring user-centric design solutions that are both practical and visionary.

• Process Optimization: Establish and continuously refine design processes tools and methodologies to ensure efficiency and scalability across projects.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a key advocate for design within the company presenting and communicating design decisions to leadership and external stakeholders.

• User Experience: Lead the team in conducting user research testing and iterative design processes to validate ideas and improve user flows.

• Brand Consistency: Oversee the evolution and application of Masabi’s brand identity and style guidelines across all digital touchpoints.

You’ll Thrive In This Role If You…

• Have a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to lead and deliver end-to-end product design solutions across platforms.

• Bring extensive experience in UI/UX design with a focus on mobile web and SaaS products.

• Possess a deep understanding of design systems interaction design and user-centered design principles .

• Demonstrate leadership experience managing and developing high-performing design teams.

• Are proficient in Figma and other design tools and have a solid understanding of agile methodologies and product management.

• Are passionate about crafting seamless and inclusive user experiences that positively impact millions of users worldwide.

• Can clearly articulate your design vision and present your ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Bonus Points For...

• Experience working within a fast-paced SaaS environment.

• Experience in transit mobility or payment technologies.

• A deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in designing for public transit or civic tech solutions.
