Job Description

Zions Capital Markets is the trade name for certain business activities of Zions Bancorporation, N.A. and its divisions and subsidiaries, including Zions Direct, Inc. Corporate and commercial banking activities are performed by Zions Bancorporation, N.A. and its banking divisions. Investment banking and securities underwriting activities are offered through Zions Direct, Inc., member FINRA/SIPC.

We are currently seeking a Head of Sales and Trading to join our team.

  1. Manages the Capital Markets Institutional Sales & Trading division.
  2. Develops and implements the Sales & Trading strategic plan.
  3. Leads the daily execution and risk management activities of the Sales & Trading division.
  4. Recommends and implements effective departmental policies, procedures, processes, and controls to ensure strong risk management governance across the division including full adherence to all regulations, laws, policies and applicable established risk limits.
  5. Daily management of all risk (e.g. Market, Counterparty, Compliance, Operational, etc.) across the division.
  6. Ensures full compliance with all related regulations (including without limitation OCC, FINRA, MSRB, and CFTC), laws, internal policies, and internal standards.
  7. Maintain awareness of currently regulatory landscape.
  8. Responsible for developing division budget and managing the related revenue and expenses.
  9. Develop a collaborative partnerships with key internal stakeholders including Risk Management

Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, math or a related field and 15+ years of related institutional sales & trading experience in a corporate/commercial bank environment and 5+ years of management experience. Direct experience and responsibility for managing division financials (revenue and expenses). A combination of education and experience may meet job requirements.
  • Requires extensive in-depth knowledge of institutional sales and trading products, markets and risk management practices.
  • Ability to lead a broad sales & trading division including developing and executing a multi-year growth strategy.
  • Broad sales and trading risk management acumen with an emphasis on building and maintaining a strong risk management culture.
  • Significant knowledge of applicable regulations and laws including OCC, FINRA, MSRB, and CFTC.
  • Strong knowledge of industry tools and systems.
  • Excellent analytical/quantitative, problem solving, organization and communication, both verbal and written skills.
  • Strong management & leadership skills.
  • Ability to set and communicate goals, measure accomplishments, hold team accountable and give useful feedback.
  • Delegate and develop, keep people informed and provide effective coaching to team members.
  • Exceptional customer service and relationship building skills.
  • High level of focus on work quality and attention to detail.
  • Self-directed, highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple bodies of work simultaneously.
  • Required to obtain required FINRA licenses including principal licenses (e.g. Series 24 or Series 53) if required and if not currently held / active.
  • MBA or CFA is highly desired.
