A well-established, decades-old compounding pharmacy in Los Angeles is seeking a Head Pharmacist to lead operations and support continued growth. With $7M in annual revenue and a strong reputation for quality, the company specializes in non-sterile compounding (503A) and serves a loyal client base from its prime location.
The Role
The Head Pharmacist will serve as the clinical and operational leader of the pharmacy, overseeing all compounding activities, compliance standards, and patient care. This role combines hands-on expertise with team leadership, managing pharmacists and technicians while maintaining the company’s reputation for excellence. The position offers an executive-level compensation package, including salary, performance-based bonuses, and equity participation tied to growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead daily pharmacy operations with a focus on compounding quality and regulatory compliance.
• Manage and develop a team of pharmacists and technicians, fostering accountability and collaboration.
• Serve as a key point of contact for prescribing physicians and patients to ensure individualized, high-quality care.
• Maintain strong compliance with California Board of Pharmacy, USP, and FDA standards where applicable.
• Collaborate with ownership to identify and implement growth opportunities, including expanded service lines and new client relationships.
• Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, safety, and patient outcomes.
Ideal Candidate Profile
• Licensed Pharmacist with an active California license (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• Minimum 7 years of compounding experience (non-sterile required).
• Deep knowledge of 503A compounding regulations and best practices.
• Proven leadership experience managing pharmacy staff and operations.
• Strong business acumen and ability to support growth initiatives.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Multi-lingual a plus (Farsi, Spanish, Armenian encouraged to apply).
