SPU is seeking an experienced Heavy Truck Driver in the Water Operations and System Maintenance Branch. The successful candidate will operate dump truck and tilt-deck trailer combos or three-axle trucks to haul materials or equipment to assigned destinations within the Greater Seattle area. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Drives variety of trucks include heavy dump trucks (in excess of 10,000 lbs. GVW) with tilt trailers, hauling equipment or material to construction sites.Works out of various locations throughout the city performing several tasks, including the repair and maintenance of the City’s water system, fixing leaks, installing new services, valves, and more.Operates mechanical and hydraulic equipment attached to trucks such as trailers, winches, hoists, pumps, and compressors.Hauls spoils and fill material to and from various job sites and to other assigned destinations.Ensure safety regulations are observed during the loading, rigging, transporting, and unloading of materials.Performs thorough inspection of combination truck or tractor/trailers prior to operation to ensure its safe condition; cleans equipment and performs minor repair.Maintains records of mileage, servicing, and minor maintenance of equipment.Performs other related duties of a comparable level/type as assigned.Works with a diverse group of people in a team environment.Please note this job advertisement is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
