WORK SCHEDULES - CURRENT OPENINGS • 100% FTE (40 hours per week), Day Shift, 7:00am-3:30pm • 100% FTE (40 hours per week), Evening Shift, 3:00pm-11:30pm and 5:00pm-1:30am DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Our staff team contribute to UW Medicine Patients Are First healthcare team by providing a clean, healthy, and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Our services at Harborview Medical Center housekeeping, linen, and waste management. Harborview Medical Centerhas received multiple awards for its environmental sustainability efforts, including the Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award from Practice Greenhealth. Harborview has also been recognized with the Greenhealth Emerald Award and the Circle of Excellence Awards. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS • Under general supervision, the individual in this role will maintain cleanliness and care of facilities in inpatient and non-patient areas and administrative offices as assigned. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • Cleans and disinfects all furniture, fixtures, and equipment according to procedure. • Removes and properly handles soiled linen; disinfects and remakes beds in patient rooms; dust and wet mops hard floors with disinfectant. • Empties/relines wastebaskets, regulated medical waste containers, and recycle containers. • Performs bloodborne pathogen and chemical spill containment and clean-up according to procedure. • Strips, cleans, buffs, and applies finish to floors. • Performs in between case cleaning and terminal cleaning of surgical, obstetrical, and invasive procedure rooms including flood mopping and disinfecting according to procedure. • Vacuums and spot clean carpets; operates automated carpet shampooers and extractors. • Follows written and/or verbal instructions regarding the use of chemicals, personal protective apparel, supplies, and equipment.
