Within our hospitality division, which includes several well-established catering and food service brands in the Greater Seattle area, is seeking a Hospitality Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and support our continued growth. This role plays a key part in maintaining sound accounting practices across multiple business units while contributing to the financial strategy of a dynamic and expanding hospitality group.
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring accuracy and integrity in financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company’s goals. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Oversee the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions.
• Manage the close process, ensuring cross-departmental coordination and timely completion.
• Support payroll process and manage payroll-related deadlines.
• Complete and/or review bank reconciliations.
• Record all accruals on a monthly basis.
• Prepare and maintain schedules to support fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses and other balance sheet accounts as deemed necessary.
• Establish, implement, and document short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial information.
• Coordinate and liaise with external auditors during audits. Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
• Prepare all necessary reports and deliverables for annual tax returns performed by the company’s CPA firm.
• Supervise and develop a team of two accounting professionals, providing day-to-day direction, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality work and continuous development.
• Provide financial support for development of budgets, forecasting, and investment decisions.
• Collaborate with other accounting leaders to align departmental goals and process improvements.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA license or actively pursuing and/or public accounting experience preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across an organization.
Job Type: Full-time
Projected Total Compensation: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
