Summary
Simplot's Solution Architect is a recognized leader and authority on relevant subject matter knowledge including technologies, theories, or techniques. Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas with high business acumen. Successfully operates in the most complex disciplines in which the company must operate to be successful. Provides highly innovative solutions. Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives. Acts as a functional manager within area of expertise but does not manage other employees as a primary job function. Leads, cross- division functional teams or projects that affect the organizations long-term goals and objectives May participate in cross-division, multi-function teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect HRIS, timekeeping, and payroll platforms end-to-end solutions
- Architect scalable and maintainable solutions
- Work across Simplot to leverage the HRIS applications to execute on delivery strategies
- Identify and address technical and operational risks
- Provide review/input on project activities for large enterprise or global level projects
- Collaborate with Program/Project Managers, Global Solution Owners, Delivery Leads, Enterprise Architects, and Product Managers to develop detailed project plans and work break down structures for large enterprise projects
- Evaluate Technology and capability requests
- Expert level of knowledge in multiple technologies or IT disciplines
- Excellent Relationship Skills with strong verbal and communication skills; demonstrated influencing skills, high level of technical and team leadership
- Tailor communication to multiple audiences at all levels
- Demonstrate concepts visually and in writing in a way that enables stakeholders to decide with confidence
- A strategic approach to solution design, with proven ability to develop and execute tactical plans to support the strategy
- Excellent ability to coach, motivate and direct work tasks to a multi-disciplinary team of delivery analysts and engineers
- Drive metrics around adoption of features
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university
- 6+ years related experience and/or training
- Proven ability to analyze, design, and optimize business processes via out-of-the-box product, technology and integration
- Success in guiding customers and colleagues in rationalizing and deploying emerging technologies that drive increased business value
- Ability to understand the customer's business problem, need, or opportunity and to design a solution that completely and correctly addresses the business problem, need, or opportunity without unnecessary enhancements
- Ability to lead the architectural design, development, deployment, and technical quality of large enterprise or global solutions that span multiple technologies and disciplines
- Be able to provide architectural direction for multiple medium to large sized projects concurrently in various stages of their lifecycle or a large project full time
- Ability to maintain the integrity of the proposed architecture to assure professional quality and logical consistency in the face of political and business pressures
- Strong customer orientation with the ability to listen, prioritize and champion key initiatives
- Flexible and self-motivated, with great interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and lead others across functions
- Ability to quickly learn new products and platforms
- Good verbal and written communication skills; influencing skills and ability to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team
