Job Description
Summary
This position is located within the 136th AW in Fort Worth, TX. This comprehensive description covers five programs/specialties within the Air National Guard Military Personnel Flight. The primary purpose is to administer and accomplish functions of one or more of the following human resources programs: Career Enhancements, Customer Service, Employments, Relocations, and/or Readiness.
Texas is one of 9 states with NO state income tax.

Appointment Factor(s): This is an Excepted Service position that requires active membership in a compatible military assignment in the Texas National Guard and wear of the military uniform. Applicants must be a current member of the National Guard or be eligible and willing for immediate transfer into the Texas National Guard.
Areas of Consideration: Nationwide. This includes:
- All currently employed full-time permanent, temporary indefinite and temporary personnel of the Texas National Guard,
- All current members of the Texas National Guard, and
- All individuals eligible and willing to join the Texas National Guard.

Military Requirements:
Compatible Military Assignment (per UMD): Applicant must be Duty AFSC assigned to a compatible position in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations upon selection. If selected and not currently Duty AFSC assigned, entrance on duty date will be delayed until assignment in the appropriate Duty AFSC is verified.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience Required:
To qualify at the GS-09 level, you must have at least one year experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-07) in fundamental knowledge of military human resources policies, rules, guidelines, instructions, etc to understand the assigned program(s) and converse effectively with functional managers, advise commanders, customers, lower graded personnel, or lower echelons. AND Thorough knowledge of overall requirements, objectives, practices and peculiarities of the assigned program area. AND Ability to plan, organize work, administer, communicate effectively (both orally and in writing), meet deadlines, gather, analyze data/products, and summarize facts in order to determine adequacy and/or deficiencies of assigned programs. Knowledge of the mission and the unit is essential in order to provide required support consistent with mission objectives and to coordinate with managers, supervisors, members, customers, dependents, and other offices on human resources issues. Knowledge of automated systems, personal computers, and software employed in the assigned program area to utilize the systems in developing reports, correspondence and to extract data. AND Knowledge and skill in application of analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, consider, and resolve issues or problems peculiar to the assigned program area.

Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade levels specified in the table, and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level.
