Who we’re looking for:
A dedicated, solution-oriented HVAC/R Chiller Technician who has knowledge in Commercial, Industrial, Pharmaceutical and/or Institutional HVAC/R Service, Installation and Controls. We are seeking an experienced candidate who can diagnose, repair, troubleshoot and install various mechanical equipment in an honest and professional manner. An ideal candidate will have a sense of urgency and approach complex situations with positivity. We are looking for an individual who has the desire to build a long-term career with our company.
Job Description
As a HVAC chiller technician, you will be responsible for diagnosis, maintenance, repairs, overhauls and operation of all electro/mechanical systems and equipment for commercial chiller systems. This would include HVAC and emergency equipment and controls, fan and blowers including troubleshooting of motors, fan coils, VAV’s heat exchangers, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air conditioning and pumps etc., for water and reciprocation, air cooled chillers; helical screws and centrifugal equipment.
Job Requirements
This position requires the following skills and attributes:
5 years of experience in heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
HVAC license preferred but not required.
Universal Refrigeration Licenses
EPA R410A cert
Prefer experience on Trane/Carrier equipment as well as other various named brands
Experience with Control Systems including Carrier and …
Experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems.
High school diploma.
Trade school certificate.
Valid CA Driver’s License.
Good driving record.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Performs all tasks as directed by work order program according to conditions and time dictated.
Must be available for weekend/OT when required.
Follows all code requirements, safety regulations, and OSHA such as Lock Out/ Tag Out Policy; use of protective gear when required; adherence to the Confined Space Policy, etc.
Hand Tools.
Chiller Tech Qualifications:
5+ years’ experience servicing both water and air cooled chillers; helical screws and centrifugal equipment
Technical guidance and direction to other mechanics
Assisting with a growing chiller service group
Knowledge of chilled water applications
Knowledge of Electrical/Pneumatic/Variable frequency drives
Diagnose, Service, Troubleshoot & Repair
Boiler Tech Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years commercial HVAC or heating boiler experience (preferred but not necessary)
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Excellent customer relation skills
Controls Tech Qualifications:
DDC Control Experience as it interfaces with chiller plant
Troubleshoot system failures and recommend and/or carry out corrective measures
Perform periodic maintenance and calibration on system components
Performing system database maintenance and back-up/restore functions as needed
Pneumatic controls experience necessary
