Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role requires a strong understanding of HVAC systems and the ability to troubleshoot various mechanical issues. The HVAC Mechanic will ensure that all systems operate efficiently and comply with safety regulations.
The HVAC Mechanic is responsible for providing maximum comfort for building occupants by operating the heating and cooling systems in the most overall energy efficient and economical manner and with the minimal disruptions of tenant activities. Position also requires monitoring operating efficiency of mechanical equipment (HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, etc.). per job requirements. The work shall include responding to a high volume of calls complaining of uncomfortable interior temperatures (referred to as βhot/cold callsβ).
Responsibilities
β’ Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, and other related equipment.
β’ Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.
β’ Troubleshoot and diagnose issues using tools such as an ohmmeter and other diagnostic equipment.
β’ Collaborate with property maintenance teams to address HVAC-related concerns.
β’ Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding system status and recommendations for repairs or upgrades.
β’ Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and inventory of parts used.
β’ Ensure compliance with local codes and safety regulations during all work activities.
Qualifications
β’ Proven experience as an HVAC Mechanic or similar role in property maintenance or as a service technician.
β’ Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, air conditioning units, boilers, and appliance repair techniques.
β’ Ability to perform mechanical tasks with precision and attention to detail.
β’ Familiarity with welding techniques is preferred but not mandatory.
β’ United States Citizen or permanent resident.
β’ Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to operate company vehicles.
β’ Ability to pass background check for a Federal Agency to obtain security access badging.
β’ Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
β’ Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
β’ Knowledge of principles and practices of safety management.
β’ Knowledge of pertinent local, state and federal laws, ordinances, codes, and rules.
β’ Electrical Trainee certification within 90 days of starting employment.

The pay rate for this position is $41.00-$49.00/hour + $4.93/hour H&W.
