HVAC New Construction Start-Up Technician

Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-orientedHVAC New Construction Start-Up/ Service Technicianto join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the final start-up and quality check of newly installed residential HVAC systems in new construction homes. You will ensure systems are operating according to manufacturer specifications and local code requirements before the home is turned over to the homeowner or builder. Responsibilities: • Perform system start-ups on new HVAC installations (heat pumps, air conditioners, furnaces, air handlers, etc.) • Conduct full system diagnostics and functionality checks to verify proper operation • Confirm thermostat operation and calibrations • Perform airflow balancing and static pressure readings • Verify system charge and adjust refrigerant levels if needed • Identify and correct minor installation deficiencies; document and escalate major issues • Complete and submit start-up documentation and system verification forms • Communicate with installation crews, builders, and management regarding system status and any follow-up needed • Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle and keep tools and materials stocked • Adhere to company safety standards and local codes Qualifications: • 1+ year experience in HVAC, preferably with new construction start-up or service background • Strong understanding of HVAC system operation and installation standards • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system manuals • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills • Strong communication and customer service skills • EPA Certification (required) • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record • Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in attics and crawl spaces Benefits: • Competitive pay with regular performance reviews • Company vehicle and gas card (for eligible positions) • Health, dental, and vision insurance • Paid time off and holidays • 401(k) with company match • Ongoing training and growth opportunities • Tool allowance and company uniforms provided If you are passionate about providing top-notch HVAC services and want to be part of a dedicated team at AC Designs Inc, we encourage you to apply today!
