HVAC Service Manager

Job Title: HVAC Service Manager Location:San Jose, CA Compensation:$90,000 base salary + performance pay Benefits:Paid medical, dental, and vision; life insurance; Aflac; PTO; 401(k) with company match About the Role We are seeking an experienced and motivated HVAC Service Manager to lead, coach, and develop our team of service technicians. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience managing HVAC service teams, with a strong track record of driving sales through technician coaching and developing effective handoffs to the sales team. This role is part leader, part coach, and part problem-solver—responsible for guiding the team, developing talent, and optimizing service operations for growth and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HVAC service technicians to ensure top performance, accountability, and growth. • Coach technicians on identifying sales opportunities and executing effective lead handoffs to the sales team. • Monitor, analyze, and act on key service KPIs and metrics to drive continuous improvement and profitability. • Oversee daily service operations, scheduling, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction. • Resolve escalated customer issues and serve as a point of support for the field team. • Collaborate closely with the sales team and senior leadership to align service operations with company goals. • Recruit, onboard, and train technicians to build a high-performing service department. • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Qualifications • 2+ years of proven leadership experience managing HVAC service technicians and 7+ years in HVAC or more total • Strong track record of driving sales and growth through technician coaching and lead generation. • Solid understanding of HVAC service operations, KPIs, and metrics. • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to balance customer satisfaction, team development, and business objectives. • EPA certification and/or relevant HVAC licensing preferred.
