Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC VRF/VRV Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) and Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) systems, providing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services for commercial and/or residential clients. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, commission, and service VRF/VRV HVAC systems according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues, including electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant-related problems.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventive care on VRF/VRV systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Communicate effectively with clients to explain technical issues, recommend solutions, and provide updates on service progress.
• Complete detailed service reports, maintain accurate records, and document all work performed.
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, company policies, and local HVAC codes and regulations.
• Collaborate with other technicians, project managers, and support staff as needed.
• Stay current with new technologies, products, and best practices in the HVAC industry.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or HVAC certification preferred.
• EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience servicing VRF/VRV systems (e.g., Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG, Samsung, or similar).
• Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and HVAC controls.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools, gauges, and hand/power tools safely and effectively.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights as needed.
Preferred Skills
• Manufacturer-specific training or certifications (e.g., Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG, Samsung VRF/VRV systems).
• Experience with building automation systems (BAS) integration.
• Familiarity with digital service platforms and mobile work order management.
Work Environment
• Field-based role with travel to client sites.
• May require occasional overtime, weekend, or on-call work.
