Position Summary
The HVAC Specialist is an important role within our Facilities department and will focus on performing specialized tasks that involve installation, maintenance and repair for our various Great Hearts school locations throughout the Phoenix Metro area (company van provided for traveling between school locations). The HVAC Specialist is under the direction and leadership of the Facilities Manager and will work towards attaining maintenance goals and company objectives, while demonstrating the ability to take initiative, problem solve and be a part of an important team within our network.

Duties & Responsibilities
β’ Independently perform routine scheduled preventive maintenance on a variety of HVAC packaged rooftop equipment.
β’ Arrange for new HVAC RTU air filters on a quarterly and semi-annual basis.
β’ Act as the secondary Tech and fill-in contact for local personnel for any building issues. May include regular maintenance items, moving furniture, assisting with setting up for school events, etc.
β’ Monitor/assist contractors and outside vendors performance to ensure work is completed according to specifications.
β’ May act as the project coordinator for small construction and repair projects.
β’ Assist with maintaining building security and immediately responds to building emergencies on an as needed basis.
β’ Transport goods or equipment as needed, with using the Great Hearts van.
β’ Create and/or maintain all numbers or identification for assigned location rooms and equipment
β’ Maintain logs for HVAC equipment routinely.
β’ Troubleshoot any issues that involve building automation
β’ May need to repair locks, doors, gates and other egress related equipment or hardware.
β’ General repair and/or replacement of building materials such as painting, flooring, and drywall patch, roof tiles, general fixtures, etc.
β’ Regularly attend scheduled department meetings.
β’ Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Competencies & Strengths
Education/Certification:HS Diploma or equivalent required. HVAC/EPA Certifications required.
Experience:1-3 years of experience in HVAC and Facilities/Maintenance field
Driving:Must hold a valid Arizona Driver License with a clean MVR to operate company van
Equipment used:May need to possess basic tools to perform duties. Specialty tools will be provided

β’ Demonstrate the ability to work in conjunction with internal and external partners.
β’ Willing to work in both inside/outside conditions with minimal direction and sometimes inside school setting.
β’ Be a self-starter with a heart of service and a strong sense of drive and urgency to meet established goals and timelines.
Additional Requirements
Type of fingerprint clearance: Must possess or obtain valid Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP fingerprint clearance card.
Physical functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May work in confined spaces and on top of buildings or structures. Will be exposed to inclement weather. May be required to move or position equipment up to 100 pounds approximately.
Travel required: Will need to travel locally to the various academies within the Phoenix Metro area. Company Van and gas card are provided. Valid Arizona driver license required.
